Welcome to St Joseph's Colliers Wood, South London

St Joseph's Colliers Wood has been serving our community parish within South London for over 50 years. Our purpose is to imitate Our Saviour, Jesus Christ, as best we can. Communicating His message of love to others, and guided by our Shepherd and Parish Priest Fr Agnelo De Souza. Come and share the awesome love which God gives to us through His son in the Sacraments of our Church

Our Parish Prayer

Over 50 years ago, this beautiful Church was built and dedicated to our Patron St Joseph...

And here we are in 2020 embracing the fruits of Easter.  A time for re-birth, renewal and re-dedication to our God, who never fails to show us His Mercy. We  have many things to be thankful for; A new season, a new hope, a beautiful Shepherd and a new opportunity to re-align ourselves with God's plan for each and every one of us.

It is important to remember that no matter what our experiences, our history our standing in social circles, there is one thing that we should never forget and always remember; and that is who we are! We are children of the living God of this universe, and no matter what we've done, he loves us all equally and he will fight for each one of us if only we allow him to.

Trust in Jesus, he will not fail us.

PARISH  PRAYER
Dear St Joseph, Patron of the Catholic Church and Guardian of this parish, watch over our community in Colliers Wood. Guide and challenge all who worship here to proclaim The Good News of your beloved adopted Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we offer these and all our prayers. Amen

OUR NEW PARISH COUNCIL
Update from Fr. Agnelo

09th September 2023

Announcing the Parish Pastoral Council
I am pleased to announce the formation of a Parish council to help drive the organisation and running of the Parish. Covid had left a long-lasting impact on the organisation and activities in our parish, and I expect this council will play a vital role in rejuvenating and further developing groups such as prayer, liturgy, and others.
As with most parish around the country, I have decided to organise the running of the parish around a parish pastoral council consisting of a number of parishioners:
Donne (10.45 Sun)
Pat Reily (6pm Sat)
Raphael (9am Sun)
Theresa (10.45am Sun)
Maryanne (9am Sun)
Ade (10.45 Sun)
Vincent (9am Sun)
Marshal (10.45 Sun)
Michael (6pm Sat)

These parishioners indeed represent a cross section of the parishioner, but they will need the time and cooperation of every parishioner to make further move this parish forward.

IMPORTANT LETTER - POPE FRANCIS

Pope Francis has released an important letter addressed to the people of God concerning abuse cases within the Catholic Church. This letter can be read in full by clicking here. The link will take you to the Vatican News website

"Dare to dream big dreams..."

Pope Francis teaches us that the youth of today must not live in fear, but must strive to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship should be a foundation for our younger generation to "dare to dream big dreams" with confidence and without fear.
